  8.                  Video Blaster SE100 LATEST INFORMATION
  9.                  ======================================
  10.  
  11. This  file  contains information not available during the printing  of
  12. the  manual.   Please read all the sections below before  you  proceed
  13. with any installation procedure.

  16. This file contains the following sections:

  22. 1.   SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
  23.  
  24.      The   installation   program,  INSTALL.EXE   will   modify   your
  25.      AUTOEXEC.BAT  file.  If you have Microsoft Windows 3.1  installed
  26.      in  your  system, you can optionally select to modify WIN.INI  to
  27.      include  the  command to setup the drivers and  applications  for
  28.      Video  Blaster  SE100 the next time you start up  Windows.   Your
  29.      original files will be renamed with a .B~K extension.
  30.      
  31.      After the installation has completed you may proceed to test your
  32.      Video Blaster SE100 card with the program SE100TST.EXE located in
  33.      the \VBSE100 directory.
  34.      
  35.      If  you allowed the installation program to add a command to your
  36.      WIN.INI, the program  WINSETUP.EXE  will be run the next time you
  37.      start  up  Windows.  If you  had not, you may  use the  following
  38.      steps to run WINSETUP.EXE.
  39.           
  40.         i.   Start Microsoft Windows 3.1.
  41.           
  42.         ii.  From the FILE menu in Program Manager, choose RUN.
  43.           
  44.         iii. Type "C:\VBSE100\WINSETUP" and press ENTER.  Note: if you
  45.              had  installed  the  Video Blaster SE100  software into a
  46.              directory  other than `VBSE100' on drive  C,  replace the
  47.              "C:\VBSE100" above with its full drive and directory name.

  49.         iv.  Follow  the  instructions  on the screen to complete  the
  50.              installation.

  53. 2.   SETTING UP FOR DIFFERENT DOS VIDEO MODES WITH SE100SET.
  54.  
  55.      By default, SE100SET sets up the video alignment for the standard
  56.      VGA  640x480x16 colors mode.  It can also be run to  set  up  the
  57.      alignment for a few other common VGA modes.  These modes are:
  58.      
  59.      a)   Text mode (80x25 columns)
  60.      b)   640x480x256 colors
  61.      c)   800x600x16 colors
  62.      d)   800x600x256 colors
  63.      
  64.      To  set  up  the  video  alignment in one of  these  modes,  type
  65.      SE100SET  <parameter>   at  the command line,  where  <parameter>
  66.      should be one of the following:
  67.      
  68.      /T   for 80x25 columns text mode
  69.      /G0  for 640x480x16 colors (the default mode)
  70.      /G1  640x480x256 colors
  71.      /G2  800x600x16 colors
  72.      /G3  800x600x256 colors
  73.      
  74.      For example, to set up for 800x600x256 colors, type the following
  75.      at the DOS command line:

  77.           SE100SET /G3
  78.      
  79.      Note that the same set of alignment values are used under DOS and
  80.      Windows,  so  if  you have set up the video alignment  using  the
  81.      Video Blaster SE100 Setup Windows program, you need not set it up
  82.      again under DOS.

  84.      Also  note  that the SE100DOS.EXE application (which  runs  under
  85.      DOS),  uses the 640x480x256 color mode.  So if you find that  the
  86.      video  is misaligned when running that application, exit from  it
  87.      and run SE100SET /G1 to adjust the alignments.
